Oxford Crescent School welcomes students from throughout Upper Hutt. As a school we share a commitment to promoting quality teaching and learning programmes. Our staff is enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated to providing educational opportunities for all students. We actively plan for the development of a well-resourced and well-disciplined educational environment with high expectations for all.

As a teaching staff we focus on literacy, numeracy, and physical activity. We have participated in professional development in literacy and numeracy and our programmes reflect these priorities. We are currently focusing our professional development on Reading and the implementation of the New Zealand Curriculum.

A significant upgrading of the school's facilities has been completed. The school is a very attractive educational centre. Classrooms are bright and colourful and reflect the teachers' enthusiasm for providing interesting teaching and learning environments. The Board has concentrated on developing additional teaching and learning facilities and we have a wonderful library and have recently installed a Multimedia Room. The school has generous sized playing fields; an all weather cricket wicket; netball courts; asphalted play areas; a hall and two purpose built playgrounds. The heated swimming pool has been recently upgraded.

The school has a rigorous process of self-review and sets targets for development on a three year cycle. These targets focus on student achievement and school improvement. We believe that a school committed to developing targets based on improvement and achievement will maintain high standards.

Our current Education Review Office review reflects our commitment to delivering a quality education for our students.
